The blue engine coolant light informs the driver about the low coolant temperature. In this case, the engine should not be revved to high speeds while this light is on because it is not warmed to its optimal operating temperature.

Once the engine coolant temperature reaches the value specified by the manufacturer, the blue coolant warning light should go out. However, you should know that there are two engine coolant warning lights. Both of these have identical shapes - the only difference is in color.

A red engine coolant light warns the driver of two potentially serious problems: a low coolant liquid level or a high coolant temperature.

Both of these problems are very serious; therefore, stopping driving and turning off the engine immediately is necessary. Otherwise, there is a risk that the engine will start to overheat, as a result of which it may even seize.

The engine coolant warning light can have two functions, more precisely, a warning and an informative function. Beware that there may appear two coolant warning lights on your dashboard.

The first one is blue and has only an informative function, while the red one warns of a serious problem.
